Nova Scotia's Kerri Smit Wins Beach Nationals

Kerri Smit (NS) and Victoria Cowley (ON) team up to win gold at Beach National Championships in the Senior Women's division.This year's Beach National Championships were held at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto August 21-23.
Kerri, a former standout left-side for the Saint Mary's Huskies volleyball team, has earned numerous accolades, including being named AUS conference MVP three times and was selected as a CIS first team all–Canadian three times. The win at Beach National Championships is Kerri's first.
Kerri started playing beach volleyball in 2012 when she was scouted at the CIS women’s volleyball nationals in Hamilton, Ont., by Lennard Krapp, a former head coach of the German developmental program who had taken over Canada’s national beach volleyball team. She's been playing beach volleyball year round as part of the National Team ever since.
