Howard Jackson Memorial Bursary

The Nova Scotia Volleyball Referees have created the Howard Jackson Memorial Bursary, in memory of Howard Jackson, a long time Volleyball Official, Coach, and Volunteer in Nova Scotia."Howard Jackson, who was a mentor and friend, represented the best of us. His guidance and support was unconditional and never-ending...his memory lives on through this bursary." ~ Claude Daniel, Regional Officials Chair.
The purpose of the bursary is to promote, encourage and support young volleyball referees and players who are currently pursuing post-secondary education in Nova Scotia.
Financial assistance is available to students in their quest for higher learning at a recognized Nova Scotia university, community college, for advanced education.
The Howard Jackson Memorial Bursary awards two $1,000 bursaries each year to one male and one female.
Howard Jackson Memorial Bursaries are awarded based on the following:
- Volleyball Official, Player
- Financial need
- Community and volunteer involvement
- GPA of 75% or above
