Team Nova Scotia - EDIA Coach Apprenticeship Program

2024-05-23

VNS excited to support coaching capacity with equity-deserving groups through the Team Nova Scotia Coach Apprenticeship Program (EDIA-CAP).

In partnership with Sport Nova Scotia and Support4Sport, Volleyball Nova Scotia is excited to pilot an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Coach Apprenticeship Program (EDIA-CAP) for the 2024 Provincial Team (Beach or Indoor) season.

VNS strongly believes that apprenticeship programs can be an essential part of the development of a coach. Furthermore, apprenticeship programs can support building coaching capacity in equity-deserving groups.

The 2024 EDIA-CAP program will provide the opportunity for up to four coaches to participate in and experience all parts of a Team Nova Scotia summer indoor or beach volleyball program.

This pilot program is available to coaches from racially visible backgrounds and other equity-deserving groups. In 2024, preference will be given to applicants from Black/African Nova Scotian or Indigenous communities.

Please visit the PROGRAM SPECIFIC PAGE to learn more about being an apprentice coach, what support coaches will have, and how coaches can express their interest and apply.
