🏐 Respect the Game, Respect the Officials 🏐

Amateur sports across Canada are facing a decline in officials, referees, and umpires due to abuse from athletes, coaches, and spectators. In response, Volleyball Nova Scotia and seven other provincial sports organizations have launched the "Respect the Game, Respect the Officials" green armband initiative.

🟢 All new referees will now wear a green armband during their first year of officiating as a reminder that they, too, are learning the game. Just like players and coaches, they deserve respect, patience, and support from everyone in the sports community.

Together with Basketball Nova Scotia, Rugby Nova Scotia, Softball Nova Scotia, Baseball Nova Scotia, Lacrosse Nova Scotia, and Soccer Nova Scotia, we are promoting a culture of respect and appreciation for the game and its officials.

Let's show support for our new referees and foster a positive environment for all!
