Police Record Check

Volleyball Nova Scotia follows a strict policy whereby referees all team staff working directly with athletes in registered club programs (coaches, assistant coaches, managers and trainers) are required to complete a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen.

In order to make the process of acquiring a Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen as painless as possible, VNS has partnered with Sterling Backcheck a service that allows you to obtain your own background check online and share it wherever you work or volunteer. Results arrive in your secure personal account by the next business day from Canadian Police, and you can share results with any of the thousands of organizations already registered with Sterling Backcheck  at no additional cost.

All individuals ordering checks through the Halifax Regional Police (Mybackcheck) must live within one of the Halifax Regional Municipalities (HRM). If you do not, you must use the form below, and take it to your local police department.

If you would prefer to acquire your Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen from a local Police Department please fill out this FORM prior to going to the station.

Police Record Checks with Vulnerable Sector Screen must be submitted to VNS.
