“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to Head Coach the Nova Scotia Canada Games Women’s Beach Volleyball Team. Working with Nova Scotia’s most talented and dedicated female beach volleyball athletes is a tremendous honour, and I am excited to begin our two-year journey to the 2017 Canada Summer Games. This is an experience that I know will be a memorable one, and I am grateful to be able to share this with our gifted athletes, Volleyball Nova Scotia and Canada Games support team.” – Sasha Kosanov

This will be Andrew’s third trip to Canada Games. His first experience was as an athlete where he played both beach and indoor volleyball for his native province of PEI.  Andrew’s next Canada Games experience was in 2013 as the coach of PEI’s men’s team. Andrew is an NCCP Level 3 trained beach coach and founded the Beat the Heat volleyball camp in 2012.

"I am very grateful and feel privileged to have been selected by Volleyball Nova Scotia to mentor and guide the 2017 Canada Summer Games men's beach volleyball team. The Canada Games are a multi-sport event that many Canadian athletes and coaches aspire to be a part of and I am excited to be given another opportunity to attend this event for a 3rd time. Nova Scotia has a fantastic group of athletes this cycle and the long term goal will be vying for a Nova Scotian best-ever finish next summer in Winnipeg." – Andrew Costa

“Dedicating the next two years to this program demonstrates how passionate Sasha and Andrew are about developing our top beach volleyball players. Volleyball Nova Scotia is fortunate to have such an outstanding pair of coaches represent our province at the Canada Summer Games.” – Jason Trepanier, Executive Director
