I want to thank VNS for the opportunity to be a part of Team Nova Scotia for another summer! I'm looking forward to help train and coach a very talented and eager group of young female athletes toward competing at NTCC's in Richmond, BC in July. The National Team Challenge Cup is a great tournament comprised of not only a high performance competition, but training with National Team coaches as well. It is unique in its opportunity for athletes and coaches to continue to learn and improve during a tournament. This event will feature some of the best volleyball athletes for their respective age groups from across the country, so the competition level will be quite high. I am very excited to see our athletes compete and represent Nova Scotia at a national level. Go Scotia! – Megan Conroy
Carrie has considerable experience with Team Nova Scotia having been involved every year since 2012. Carrie’s many accomplishments include a gold medal performance at Eastern Elite Championships in 2013 as a Head Coach. She has helped develop numerous high level players with the Cougars Volleyball Club and Cobequid Educational Centre (CEC), winning numerous Provincial and Regional titles with both teams. Carrie is a fully certified Level 2 NCCP coach.
“I feel honored and privileged to have been selected by VNS as Assistant Coach and part of the coaching staff for the 17U Team Nova Scotia National Team Challenge Cup Program. I am very excited to be part of this great experience with such a talented group of athletes and to be able to witness their personal growth. I am also eager to work with Head Coach, Jon Elliot and other coaching staff as I know it will be very memorable.” – Carrie Peck
Head Coach, Jon Elliott had this to say about the additions to the coaching staff, "Megan and Carrie are fantastic additions to our Team Nova Scotia staff. They have both shown dedication to athlete development at a number of age groups, and shown dedication to provincial team programs the last number of years. Their experience, knowledge, positive energy and enthusiasm will make them tremendous role models for the athletes, and makes me excited to have them as part of our coaching team."
Volleyball Nova Scotia would like to wish the group luck as they prepare for the National Team Challenge Cup in BC, July 13-17.
