We're Hiring - EDC and Provincial Team Coaches

2017 Elite Development Camp (EDC) - Coach Position (Indoor)

EDC coach positions are for coaches looking to learn from and network with other coaches, as well as become more familiar with VNS High Performance and Provincial Team Programs. Participating as an EDC Coach may be used for a coach’s final evaluation to complete his/her NCCP Development Coach Certification if desired. EDC coaches will receive an honorarium, as well as compensation for travel. VNS will cover all meals and accommodations during the EDC which takes place at Cape Breton University in Sydney, NS from July 2^nd to July 8^th, 2017.
 
The EDC Coach will be responsible for the following:

• Assist with athlete check-in and physical testing activities
• Assist Team Coaches with on court training sessions in drill management and athlete feedback as assigned by the Lead Coach with various groups
• Supervise athletes during off court hours
• Plan and deliver the EDC Social event
• Sit in on planning session meetings (if desired)

2017 Provincial Team - Coach Position (Indoor)

• 17U and 15U, Male and Female, Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions available
• Closing date: June 2^nd, 2017, 11:59pm

Head Coaches will be responsible for the following in relation to his/her assigned age group provincial team:

• Assist the Mentor Coach as required in planning and delivery of all training sessions during the EDC in Sydney, Cape Breton from July 2^nd – July 8^th, 2017.
• Manage each training session during the EDC which include: court supervision, drill modifications, athlete feedback
• Assist in the selection of the provincial team roster
• With the assistance from the Lead Coach, plan all team training sessions in the Halifax-Metro area from July 22^nd – July 27^th, leading up to the Eastern Elite Championships in Moncton, NB on July 28^th and 29^th.
• During competition prepare all game plans, coach his/her team and lead team debriefs
• Assist in athlete assessments during the competition and ensure the development of the athletes meet the seasonal plan’s desired outcomes
• Head Coaches will also receive an honorarium, accommodations (if needed) as well as compensation for travel.

Assistant Coaches will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with the head coach on the above items. They will also receive an honorarium, accommodations (if needed) as well as compensation for travel.

Note: The Provincial Team Coach position may be used for a coach’s final evaluation to complete his/her NCCP certification if desired.
