Registration for the clinic includes:
  • A uniform.
  • ​Theory: approximately 6 hours of online content about rule interpretations and game administration
  • ​Practice: evaluation in a formal match (junior high, high school, club) in each of the positions of First Referee, Second Referee, and Scorer.

Notes:
Novice referee is under age 16 or university/college athlete trained for their specific tournaments only – A Referee Supervisor must be onsite when using Novice referees or trained university/college athletes at events.
 
Travel -$0.40/km per round trip of 50kms or more. Meals - Breakfast, $10.00 (overnight), Lunch, $12.00, Dinner, 15.00.

Qualifications to become a Level 1 (Local) Referee:

  • Be at least 15 years old

  • Possess the leadership skills to referee and manage the game for all participants

  • Be interested in learning and open to feedback

What can I referee as a Level 1?

  • You would be eligible to referee any junior high school matches, high school matches on your own for B leagues, high school matches in the R2 position, club volleyball at any level. You can also get involved as a minor official (scorekeeper or lines judge) in college and university matches.
