New and Improved NCCP Program

2015-10-09

There have been changes to the NCCP Coach Development Program.

Volleyball Canada has recently made enhancements to the NCCP Volleyball Program. The most significant improvement is the addition of E-learning modules coaches can work through from the comfort of their own home.

The E-learning modules were added for the following reasons:

1. Update and improve the quality of the course content
2. Meet the standards of training and evaluation set by the CAC for all sports to follow
3. Create consistency in content delivery across Canada
4. Modify the In-Person Workshops to allow coaches greater opportunity to practice the skills of coaching, and reduce required time in the classroom
5. Provide greater flexibility for coaches to take course material at their own pace at home
6. Relieve some of the time constraints on coaches by eliminating required time and cost for In-Person Multi-Sport Workshops: Teaching and Learning and Plan a Practice (2016)
7. Reduce or maintain the over-all cost of NCCP coach education for coaches and clubs (no manuals and elimination of some MSM’s)
8. Clarify the certification process for coaches, by tracking coaches' progress visually in one central system (Status Area)

Completing the new E-learning modules are now required before attending an in-person workshop.  The cost for this step is a one time fee of $79 for all e-learning modules, which includes Development and Advance Development material. These modules can be done at your own pace and take on average 10 hours to complete all 12 e-lerning modules.

You will need the following to register:
  • credit card
  • NCCP number*
*You will have one only if you have previously taken a NCCP course.  Please ensure to use the same number as to not create an additional profile in your name.  If this is the first time you are registering for a coaching course or workshop an NCCP number will be assigned to you with this registration.

Volleyball Nova Scotia will be offering a series of courses starting in January and encourage coaches to begin working through the new E-learning modules now.
